FiberStories: Concentric Cotton

Concentric Cotton was created after the success of it’s worsted weight, baby alpaca counterpart: Concentric.

This 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton, fingering weight alternative is truly a bundle of joy. With a generous 929 yards in each 200 gram cake, just one or two is enough to create nearly any project!

Best of all, this yarn is alluring for multiple crafts as crocheters, weavers and machine knitters will also appreciate the reasonable price point, lack of ends to weave in, and cake put-up for easily usability.

  • 100% Pima Cotton
  • 929 yards per 200 gram cake
  • Approximately 5.5-6 stitches per inch on US 4-6 (3.50 - 4.00 mm) needles
  • Recommended size G (4.00 mm) hook
  • Worsted Weight
  • Winding not required
  • Hand wash, lay flat
  • Designed in Seattle, Made in Peru

FiberStories: Cotton Ball

Talk about summer comfort! Long-staple organic cotton is harvested in Greece and brought to Schoppel's factory, where it is spun and dyed in shadow colors. The processes used are environmentally friendly and use less water than traditional dyeing methods.

Whether crocheted or knitted, Cotton Ball has an amazing drape. The finer stitches create a wonderfully simple, polished fabric. We love the Easky top designed in this yarn by Anna Maria Busch! Its simple construction provides a playground for the subtle color variations to dance across each row of stitches.

What will you make with this wonderful yarn? We can't wait to see your creations. Remember to tag us in social media @makersmercantile when you share your finished objects!

  • 100% Long Staple Cotton from Greece

Getting pattern updates in Ravelry

When a pattern is updated in Ravelry, purchasers often get a notification (either by email, or by private message). Updates are used to deliver the pattern and/or updates to everyone at the same time. There are a few ways to check for updates.
First, check in your library. Go to Ravelry, then choose Library from the drop down menu under the my notebook tab on the top right.

In the library, you’ll find records on the left of all the Ravelry related purchases you have made. See that button on ours that says 1 update available? Find that button in your account, and click it.

You’ll be led to a list of patterns that have been updated, along with a history of messages from the designer (or whoever did the updates). Click on update now to get the latest version of that pattern.

What if you didn’t associate your Ravelry ID with your purchase? Well, if the email you used is the same as the one connected to your Ravelry account, those patterns can be updated too!
Click on your avatar in the top right corner of the page, then choose purchases.

Then click on Purchase Finder and enter the email address you used when purchasing an item from Ravelry. A link will be sent to connect that purchase to your Ravelry account.

If for some reason an update isn’t working for you, and you purchased a pattern from Makers’ Mercantile, send us an email and we will do our best to help you.

Soundtrack by Olive Knits

Soundtrack by Olive Knits

Our friend and talented designer Marie Greene is back with another 4 Day Knit Along! This pattern drops (see what we did there?) on July 1st, and we know that you will want to have your yarn and needles ready when this fun KAL kicks off!
We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the pattern, so Kyle & Kim have already knit theirs!

Kim decided to go bold with color and used HiKoo® Kenzie in color 1009 with Schoppel-Wolle Edition 3 in color 2361.

Kyle’s sweater is knit with two colors of HiKoo® Kenzie, colors 1007 & 1017.

We are excited for you to cast on with us! And we know you love a great sweater kit as much as we do, so we created a Soundtrack Sweater, Build Your Own Kit coupon, providing savings of 15%!

Select your favorite two colors of HiKoo Kenzie, or one color of HiKoo Kenzie and one color of Schoppel-Wolle Edition 3 in the quantity necessary for you to knit your sweater. Upon checking out, use code: Soundtrack4dayKAL and you’ll receive your 15% discount. Need needles? No problem, we’ve included the skacel Rocket 2 [squared]  and Turbo by addi needles in the sizes needed, as part of the discount.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
In order to offer specially priced kits in sweater quantities, we have had to use codes, rather than a set price.  This enables us to offer the kit that allows you to buy the amount of yarn needed for your project.

Unfortunately our system only allows you to use one code at checkout. If you would like to order several items that have different codes assigned, please place separate orders for each code. Also, please put in the notes that you have one (two, three) orders placed, and that we should ship them together. We are happy to do so. If your combined orders total more than $50, and you paid shipping on any of the orders from the same day, we will refund your shipping charges on each order. Please allow a few days for this to happen.

Yes, this means a few more steps for you (and us!) but we want to offer as many discount opportunities as possible, and for now, this is the best we are able to offer with our current system.

Soundtrack Sweater sizes & yarn quantities:

  • 32″ = 6 balls
  • 36″ & 40″ = 7 balls
  • 44: = 8 balls

Whidbey Pullover Design Contest

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your interest in our Whidbey Pullover Design Contest in collaboration with Bellish. After much in-house discussion, we have decided to postpone this design contest indefinitely.

With Stay At Home orders still in effect for much of the country, and the world, we want to ensure everyone who has the desire to participate would also have the ability to obtain the yarn. This is not currently possible for everyone, and we are aware of this.

We look forward to re-introducing an event like this in the future and hope you will join us then.

If you have any questions regarding this event, please reach out to Kyle at Kyle@makersmercantile.com for assistance.

We appreciate your understanding and wish you well,

  • The Makers’ Team
